This page lists guidelines for posting lyrics to PetitLyrics.

■ Some lyrics cannot be posted/Guidelines for posting availability
In PetitLyrics, you can post lyrics for musical works managed (and licensed) by JASRAC, NexTone, as well as individually licensed works (including those managed by the composers themselves).
Checks the licensing status on the managed works search page (management page) of the JASRAC, NexTone, websites, or from the list below for individual works.

Works that cannot be posted
∙ works with lyrics that are not published (including before release)
∙ works that you heard and transcribed
∙ works without lyrics (instrumental)
∙ works translation of lyrics
∙ the pseudonym reading of the lyrics
∙ the parody songs without permission of the lyrics by the original writer
∙ works managed by copyright management companies other than by JASRAC / NexTone, you also cannot post the works that copyrights is managed by yourself (including self-managed works)
except the works those for which PetitLyrics has obtained licenses individually.
∙ the text that is not lyrics (Please enter to the dedicated field).

Note
∙ A “JASRAC” sticker on a CD does not necessarily means that lyrics of the song can be posted Some works are registered with JASRAC, NexTone, with a condition prohibiting the distribution of lyrics.
Licensing status differs from work to work. Be sure to check each management page. Go to the management pages here.
∙ Licensing status changes from time to time Check the current status before posting lyrics.
∙ The information on a management page may not be current, depending on when it was last updated
∙ If PetitLyrics finds that the licensing status has changed after the lyrics were posted, lyrics that have already been distributed may become hidden (distribution will be suspended) or hidden lyrics may be published (redistributed)

The works that copyrights are managed by themselves, the artists / related persons who have their own lysics and copyrights
You can post the lyrics that copyright is managed by yourself, such as you are the writer of the lyrics.
* Please check the "I am the copyright holder of this lyrics" option when you post the lyrics on Petitlyrics Maker, then enter the name of the copyright holder.
Also when posting, please register as a member of "PetitLyrics" and post with your own account, (if you post with the shared account "Spotify User", it may be overwrriten by other users)
* Please allow us to distribute your works for free.
* PetitLyrics Maker for Win OS version does not support songs whose copyright is self-managed. The lyrics of your post may be hidden (distribution will be suspended), so please use the smartphone version of "PetitLyrics Maker"
* You can not post a parody song which is not officialy accepted by original writer even if you are the writer of the lyrics.

■ Guidelines for lyrics text input
Enter lyrics text correctly as written on the CD lyrics card or official website (of the artist or label).

Notes on input
∙ You cannot post with lyrics that are not published (including before release)
∙ You cannot that you heard and transcribed
∙ You cannot post translations of lyrics
∙ You cannot post readings for Japanese characters for lyrics
∙ You cannot post the parody songs without permission of the lyrics by the original writer
∙ Do not use single-byte Japanese characters
∙ Enter information other than lyrics text on the metadata entry screen when posting lyrics

∙ PetitLyrics limits the number of characters to post in one line to 16 double-byte characters and 32 single-byte characters due to the screen size of devices.
If lines that exceed this limit and line breaks are unavoidable, adjust the position for easy to read so the meaning of the lyrics does not change.

*PetitLyrics Maker for Android App ver2.1.1 has removed the limit on the number of characters per line.

∙ If the posted data contains error or defect , the data will be hidden (distribution will be suspended).

■ Enter music data correctly/Guidelines for metadata input
∙ What is metadata?
In PetitLyrics, metadata refers to any information associated with music other than lyrics text.
(Metadata includes artist, album, lyricist, composer, etc., and other data)
∙ Enter the metadata correctly
Check with the CD, official website (of the artist or label), or legitimate download website for the correct data.
(Note that metadata displayed when you load a CD using music management software may contain incorrect data and using it may result in posting lyrics with incorrect metadata)

Notes on input
∙ Use ellipsis (...), dots (・・・), and periods(.) exactly as they are used in the official version
∙ Use double-byte (Japanese text) or single-byte characters as well as upper and lower case characters exactly as used in the official version
∙ Do not use single-byte Japanese characters
∙ As special characters (machine specific characters) may not be displayed correctly, replace them with single-byte blank spaces
　　Example: ♡ (heart), ♫ (music notes)
∙ As special numerical characters (machine specific characters) may not be displayed correctly, replace them as follows
　　Example: ① (circled one) ⇒ Use the alternative expression used on the official website (of the artist or label). If it is not found, use a plain numeral.
　　　　Album name ① ⇒ Album name 1
　　Example: Ⅳ (Roman numeral 4) ⇒ IV (upper case i and v)
∙ Enter related information in the comment column, not in the title or album column
∙ If the album name does not exist or cannot be identified, leave the album column blank

Solo song of an artist belonging to a group
For a song by an artist belonging to a group, enter the member name or unit name (within the group) for the artist.

Example: Title/artist
Correct: Sore wa yappari kimi deshita/Kazunari Ninomiya
Wrong: Sore wa yappari kimi deshita/Arashi

Omnibus/compilation album (a single album by multiple artists)
∙ Enter the artist name of each song in Artist Name
∙ You cannot use Various Artists (V.A.) or the album name as the artist name


If the posted data is incorrect, we correct the data or become hidden (distribution will be suspended). Please enter the correct data.

You can post lyrics if they satisfy the following conditions:

∙"〇" mark is indicated in the Distribution colum
∙"△" mark is indicated in the Distribution colum, Lyrics are managed by JASRAC, and nothing is written in NOTE colum
∙"△"mark is in the Distribution colum, and "P.D." is in NOTE colum
∙ "X" mark is in the Distribution colom, and "P.D." is in NOTE colum
∙ "The copyright of this work has expired" is displayed

*"P.D." is for Public Domain, and the state in which the copyright has not occurred or has disappeared.
*For a non-Japanese song, classification of the rights is too complex and posted lyrics may be refused for posting at the final stage of the rights status check.
*A non-Japanese song refers to songs with copyrights managed by a non-Japanese management organization. This classification is for JASRAC management, and is different from the classification of Japanese and non-Japanese songs.
